VACS (Virginia Agricultural Cost-Share)
A state-funded program that provides cost-share dollars and technical assistance to landowners and agricultural operators that voluntarily install selected BMPs (Best Management Practices).
What are BMPs?
BMPs are devices, systems, and procedures that reduce or eliminate non-point source (NPS) pollutants from harming the environment, particularly water features.
How do BMPs benefit the farm?
Provide more water and better water distribution over the farm
Improve livestock health: Eliminate livestock risk areas
Facilitate rotational grazing to improve ease of livestock movement and reduce Bio-security risks
